NEAR SAN BENITO – The state department says it is monitoring the investigation of a U.S. citizen who was killed in Mexico.

It claimed the life of Rocio Aledrete and injured several others.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials say it happened on the Mexican side of the bridge.

The department says they are also providing consular assistance.
