McAllen Jury Convicts Two Men for Multiple Violent Crimes
MCALLEN – Two men face up to life in prison in connection to drug crimes, carjacking, robbery and firearm offenses.
The McAllen jury convicted 33-year-old Marin Macrin Cerda aka Filtro and 29-year-old Jose Miguel Montemayor on Friday after a seven day trial.
According to the release, both men were convicted of
“Conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine, conspiracy to possess a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense and a crime of violence, two counts of carjacking, four counts of Hobbs Act robberies, two counts of brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence and/or a drug trafficking offense and three counts of discharging a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence and/or a drug trafficking offense.”
Montemayor faces a minimum of 54 years, while Cerda faces a minimum of 78 years to life in prison.
Both men face a maximum lifetime term of imprisonment.
