Donna ISD Audit Report is Ready and Ahead of Schedule
DONNA – Donna Independent School District officials say their school audit report is ready and ahead of schedule this year.
Texas schools are required to report their fund expenditures at the start of the year.
Donna Independent School District missed their deadline last year, leading to the assignment of a failing grade.
KRGV’s Valerie Gonzalez spoke to Donna Superintendent and chief financial officer, Hafedh Azaiez.
Azaiez says he is aware of the problems created by the failing status assigned to the district.
"So because we failed last year, we got an F. We are high-risk for two years, so, for this year and next year, we're going to be under the microscope," he says.
This year, the district got ahead of the deadline and the audit report was finished over a month before the due date.
