NEAR BOCA CHICA BEACH – Cameron County residents say they’re skeptical SpaceX launch operations will be happening after all.
Elon Musk announced plans to launch a BFR, a powerful rocket, from the Boca Chica launch pad.
But the Heaton’s say they’ve only seen minimal progress at the site.
A spokesman for the company tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS it’s been in their plans since the groundbreaking announcement:
“We are entering a new exciting era in space exploration and Texas will play an increasingly important role in our efforts to make humanity multi-planetary.”
They could not comment on any possible engineering or building changes that could be needed at the site.
