LAREDO – The FBI is leading an investigation into a shooting incident that took place Sunday in Laredo.
According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, agents assigned to the Border Patrol Laredo Sector were fired upon by unidentified individuals from Mexico.
It happened as agents were patrolling the river banks of the Rio Grande.
Agents had observed a group on the river banks of Mexico and spotted one of them carrying what appeared to be a long firearm, according to CBP.
Soon after, agents were fired upon and took cover.
No injuries were reported.
