The city of McAllen is reminding residents that the deadline to register to vote in the upcoming city and school elections is next week.

The deadline is Thursday, April 6.

To register to vote, you must be 18 years old, a U.S. citizen and a county resident.

Those hoping to register can do so in person at the McAllen city secretary's office, located on the second floor of McAllen City Hall at 1300 Housotn Ave.

You can also register online through the Texas Secretary of State website.
