MCALLEN — It’s a pastry most have eaten in their lives – doughnuts.

The now Rio Grande Valley resident, Peter Jurkins, owner of Yummy’s Ice Cream and Mini Donuts, says he learned from his mama.

His shop in McAllen was a dream turned reality. However, the shop opened in March, the day before state restrictions on who and who can’t remain open happened.

Yummy’s is located at 705 South 10th Street in McAllen. The shop is open every day from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
