UPDATE (9:00 p.m.): Authorities have arrested 28-year-old Gregorio Gonzalez at the South Padre Island Police Department.

Gonzalez is suspected of driving the white four door vehicle that fled the scene of the accident involving the golf cart.

His arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday.

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND – South Padre Island police are searching for a driver who fled the scene of an accident.

It happened on the 4900 block of Padre Blvd around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

According to police, a golf cart collided with a white four-door vehicle causing the golf cart to flip over.

The crash left two people hospitalized; one of them is in critical condition.

There were five people in the golf cart at the time of the accident.
