Officers with the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office were spotted outside a game room near Weslaco conducting an investigation Wednesday evening.

The deputies were at the Mega Slots game room, located near N. International Boulevard and East Mile 11 North, in reference to illegal gambling at the location, department spokesman Sgt. Enrique Longoria said in a statement provided to Channel 5 News.

“Tonight the Hidalgo County Sherif’fs Office conducted an evidentiary search warrant at location in reference to illegal gambling,” Longoria stated. “This is an ongoing investigation and no other information will be provided at this time.”
