MISSION – Feral hogs and javelinas are stirring trouble in communities between two South Texas cities.

City leaders in Mission say they are trying to deal with an increase in reports of feral hogs bothering residents. It’s also a problem in Falfurrias, including javelinas.

Melissa Landin, an administrator in Falfurrias, says the increase of the wild animals has left them blindsided and wanting answers from state officials.

A spokesperson with Texas Parks and Wildlife says the issues had forced the state to recently change a law for landowners trying to manage with the animals.
