Military Working to Harden Valley Ports of Entry
WESLACO – The U.S. military is in the Rio Grande Valley to harden security at ports-of-entry from Laredo to Donna.
According to a statement from the U.S. Army, military personnel are working at Donna and Progresso ports-of-entry as part of the “port hardening mission”.
The statement reads, “The Department of Defense is helping the Department of Homeland Security with a request for military to harden ports of entry in Texas and New Mexico.”
Brownsville wasn’t specifically named in the statement but people crossing the border reported new plexi glass-looking barriers.
