McAllen Police: Pedestrian Failed Right-of-Way When Officer’s Unit Hit Him
MCALLEN – Last week, an 83-year-old man was hit by a local police unit when he attempted to cross a street in McAllen.
It happened at the intersection of Buddy Owens Boulevard and Taylor Road.
McAllen police reported a Palmhurst police officer made a right turn at the intersection and did not see the pedestrian.
According to witnesses, the 83-year-old was not on the crosswalk at the time.
CHANNEL 5 NEWS reported noticing some of the crosswalk lights were not working properly.
The city of McAllen did not agree with us.
