BROWNSVILLE – A former Cameron County employee accused of stealing over $1 million worth of fajitas is expected to take a plea deal.

According to court records, Gilberto Escamilla waived his rights to a jury trial and instead is expected to agree to the bargain.

Escamilla is a former employee at the Darrell Hester Juvenile Detention Center in San Benito.
