WESLACO – A Rio Grande Valley school district is reinspecting their fleet of buses.

Friday morning, a small fire started underneath the hood of a South Texas Independent School District bus. The vehicle was carrying students to school.

School staff says the fire was caused by electrical problems.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS is told all buses in the district go through yearly maintenance and bus drivers are trained to handle incidents such as the one from Friday morning.

The students and bus driver were not hurt.
