EDINBURG – One arrest was made in connection to Friday’s raid at the Hidalgo County Courthouse.

FBI agents raided Hidalgo County’s 93rd District Court; the court’s presiding judge is Rudy Delgado.

Federal agents also conducted a search at a home in Edinburg on Schunior Road and near North 29th Street. The scene at the property was still active Friday night.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS reached out to defense attorney Adolfo “Al” Alvarez. He confirms he will be representing Delgado. He told us Delgado was detained.

He says at this time he hasn’t talked to Delgado and has not seen any documents on the matter.

Alvarez also tells us they are expecting a court hearing on the matter to take place Monday.

All of this comes after the FBI’s clean sweep in Delgado’s court Friday afternoon.

According to Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra, they specifically targeted the 93rd District Court.

The FBI tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS they cannot elaborate why they are investigating.

Texas Department of Public Safety tells us they are assisting the federal agency at the residence. A search of the Hidalgo County tax records show the property belongs to Delgado.

The FBI told us they were conducting a second investigation at the home.

The federal agency says they’ll be able to provide more information at Monday’s hearing.

Authorities will not confirm if Delgado’s detention is connected to the FBI raids.

We will continue to follow this story and bring you information as it becomes available.
