PALMVIEW - DPS troopers are investigating an accident north of Palmview. It happened on Buddy Owens Boulevard/3 Mile Line, near East Goodwin Road, just after noon.

DPS Lt. Johnny Hernandez said a man in a black Nissan Ultima heading eastbound lost control and hit a utility pole. Buddy Owens Boulevard is closed between Doffing Road and Minnesota Road, as crews clean up the scene.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS learned the driver was taken to the McAllen Medical Center. We have a crew on the scene and will bring you more details as soon as they become available.
