ALAMO – He’s been on dialysis for five years, now his daughter is organizing a 5K run to raise money for the National Kidney Foundation.
Melissa Gonzalez would love to be the one to donate a kidney to her father, Willie Gonzalez, owner of Willie’s Bar-B-Q in Alamo.
She has been tested and found out she’s a preliminary match.
“When I got sick I was going to sell the restaurant and they said ‘no dad, you’re not going to sell it. We’re going to run it.’ They’ve been running it for five years and they’re doing a heck of a job,” said Willie.
Melissa wants to approach different dialysis centers and see if their patients would like to participate.
