Border Patrol Agent Facing Death Penalty in Murder Case
LAREDO – A South Texas Border Patrol agent is facing the death penalty after being indicted on two capital murder counts.
Investigators and prosecutors believe Border Patrol agent Ronald Anthony Burgos-Aviles killed Grizelda Hernandez and her one-year-old while on duty.
Webb County district attorney Isidro Alaniz says he is pursuing the death penalty for the agent because he used his jobs as a way to commit the murders.
