2 Charged with Multiple Counts of Credit Card Abuse in McAllen
MCALLEN – Two people are accused of using cloned credit cards to buy items at several pawnshops. McAllen police arrested 27-year-old Saul Israel Garza and 32-year-old Patricia Garcia.
The investigation started April 7, when a pawn shop employee called police about a man trying to buy merchandise with a cloned credit card. Police said the man provided a fake name and had multiple cloned credit and debit cards. He was later identified as Garza.
Garza was arraigned for failure to ID and credit card abuse the next day. His bond totaled $102,500. The police investigation led them to Garcia, who was also arrested for credit card abuse.
Officers discovered the two made several purchases at pawn shops with cloned credit/debit cards during March. Garza was charged with five more counts of credit card abuse on April 19 and two more counts on April 21. His bonds on those counts totaled $325,000.
Garcia was also charged with additional counts of credit card abuse. She faces a total of three charges. Her bond totaled $120,000.
