UTRGV volleyball gearing up for NIVC tournament

UTRGV volleyball is postseason bound.
The Vaqueros secured a spot in the Women's National Invitational Championship.
This is UTRGV's third appearance in the NIVC over the last four years after making the tournament in 2021 and 2022.
The team is heading to Nacogdoches for the first and second round of the tournament.
It all starts against Arkansas State in round one on Thursday at 3 p.m.
If they win that round, they will be facing off against Jackson State or Stephen F. Austin on Friday at 6 p.m.
"Conference tournament obviously left a bad taste in the girls mouth and just that opportunity," UTRGV volleyball head coach Todd Lowery said. "To go out and play like we can play at the end of the season."
"I feel like every single team, it's a good team," UTRGV volleyball senior outside hitter Claudia Lupescu said. "You're not gonna have an easy game because all of these teams earned to be here, and it's just go and compete I guess at the end of the day, we're just going to go and do our job and hopefully get a win."
