PHARR – The third lanes on the expressway in McAllen should open up soon, weather permitting, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.
A TxDOT spokesperson says they’re hoping the main lanes will be able to open in December, increasing vehicle capacity on both east and westbound lanes.
Construction on the three-mile long Bicentennial project began in Feb. 2017.
Transportation officials expect the project to wrap up next winter.
