TCEQ: Controlled Burned in Edinburg Violated State Code

A fight that is now getting attention from the state.
CHANNEL FIVE NEWS first told you about this site a few months ago.
A legal burning site approved by TCEQ became a disturbance for people like Yarely Gomez and her family. She says her sister was constantly in pain.
"Most of the time when she came outside she just started coughing up and she just felt like she couldn't breath. So she had to run back inside. Get her inhaler. And start pumping it", said Gomez.
The burning has stopped.
Complaints sent to TCEQ initiated an investigation.
Hidalgo county Precinct Four allegedly violated Texas Administrative Code.
CHANNEL FIVE NEWS reviewed that report where two violations were stated.
One, the precinct failed to comply with nuisance conditions.
No person shall discharge air contaminants which can affect human/animal life, vegetation, or the normal enjoyment.
The second violation, the county failed to provide the general requirements for allowable outdoor burning.
A spokesperson for TCEQ tells CHANNEL FIVE NEWS they have reached out to county representatives on the violations.
