REYNOSA, TAMAULIPAS - Migrants waiting in Mexico for their U.S. immigration cases are causing issues in another Mexican city.
Reynosa mayor Maki Ortiz is calling on U.S and Mexican officials to step in to help.
She tells us they have migrants from all over the world living in her city, from Central Americans to Cubans.
Ortiz says it is becoming too expensive to care for the migrants.
Currently there are hundreds of migrants waiting in Matamoros that are living in the streets under donated tents.
They are waiting for their asylum court date under the U.S. Migrant Protection Protocol, also known as remain in Mexico.
