The city of McAllen's Recycling Center is offering to get rid of natural Christmas trees for residents.
The city says the trees will be turned into mulch to help keep homes and areas green.
"We give it another purpose. We take it to our compost facility where we chip it, and it becomes mulch," McAllen Recycling Center Supervisor Manuel Gonzalez said.
Residents can buy that mulch from the recycling center as well.
They'll be accepting trees through January 15. Residents can drop them off at the center during their normal business hours.
