EDINBURG – A 29-year-old is behind bars in Edinburg charged with attempted kidnapping.
The incident happened at a daycare center on Thursday.
Andres Rodriguez Jr. is facing three charges; one is related to the attempted kidnapping at Albatross Daycare in Edinburg.
He was also charged with stealing a cell phone from someone who tried to intervene during the incident and in a hit and run.
The kidnapping charge alone came with a $75,000 bond.
Rodriguez was reportedly vocal during the arraignment, stating the charges were based on false information.
Police said he appeared intoxicated when he allegedly tried to take the child from the daycare.
