Man Charged for Hit-and-Run Involving Golf Cart on SPI

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND – A suspect in a hit and run involving a golf cart on South Padre Island went before a judge Tuesday morning.

Gregorio Gonzalez was charged with four counts of accident involving personal injury.

His bond is set at $130,000.

Investigators say the 28-year-old was in a white car that hit the golf cart over the weekend.

It happened on the 4900 block of Padre Blvd, causing it to flip over.

Two people are currently being hospitalized; one of them is in critical condition.
