MCALLEN – The Hidalgo County Tax Office is warning potential car buyers to be aware of possible flood-damaged vehicles.
"Be a smart buyer. Be aware, know what you are buying and do your history, do your checks. Call our office we'll definitely get you information,” says Motor Vehicle Registration Manager Santos Castilleja.
Checking the vehicle’s title is the first step. Other tips include checking for water damage, looking under the carpets for rust, check seat belts for water stains and check the area where the spare tire is located.
