WESLACO – A former TruFit customer is relieved to have a refund. He was charged for months after he said he canceled his membership.
CHANNEL 5 NEWS looked into Erick Lopez's problem. Lopez said he submitted a written cancellation request in April, as his contract required.
The company continued charging.
"I was going through my bank statement. I said 'wait a minute,’" said Lopez.
He continued receiving $50 membership charges until six months later, when he contacted CHANNEL 5 NEWS.
A TruFit representative told us they were able to find out Lopez did follow up with a manager however did not find a record of any written cancellation request.
TruFit agreed to refund fees charged for the last six months.
