Former Hidalgo Co. Sheriff to be Released from Federal Custody

WESLACO – A former Hidalgo County Sheriff will be released from federal custody.

Lupe Trevino was sentenced to five years in federal prison at age 64.

He was found guilty of conspiracy to commit money laundering.

According to the Department of Justice, Trevino will now serve a two-year term of supervised release.
