Fatal Crash Claims Life of San Juan Bicyclist, Driver Arrested

A fatal crash involving a bicyclist and 18 wheeler is under investigation in Alamo.
It happened Saturday afternoon on Military Highway.
DPS Lieutenant Johnny Hernandez told CHANNEL 5 NEWS an investigation showed both the driver and bicyclist were traveling west bound when the accident occurred.
"The importance of this situation also is that you have got to be aware that you have to share the road," Hernandez said."The importance of being aware of your surroundings, the bicyclist has every right to be on this roadway."
The driver did stop to render aid, but was later placed under arrest for criminal negligent homicide.
The victim has been identified as 64-year-old Jose Luis Palacios from San Juan.
The driver was a 34-year-old from Reynosa.
