MCALLEN – The Rio Grande Valley’s Chief Border Patrol Agent escorted President Donald Trump along the frontline at Anzalduas Park in Mission.
KRGV’s Sierra Pizarro spoke to chief Raul Ortiz after the tour.
He says they showed President Trump the current border security resources and what they could benefit from if a bill is passed.
“We were able to talk a little bit about some of the trends that we're seeing down here. He asked some specific questions about what we needed,” says Ortiz.
He says he hopes President Trump was able to get a perspective of border security in South Texas.
