Chargers' historic season ends with 49-21 loss to Smithson Valley Rangers in final four

The Brownsville Veterans Memorial Chargers ended their historic season Friday by falling to the Smithson Valley Rangers with a final score of 49-21.
The Chargers advanced all the way to the 5A Division I semifinal championship game at Buccaneer Stadium in Corpus Christi.
They were the first Brownsville ISD high school football team to advance this far in the playoffs, and the first Valley football team to make it to the final four since 2003.
