The Boys and Girls Club of the Rio Grande Valley received a federal grant of more than $3 million.
The funding will help pay for things like gaming consoles, computers, and sports equipment.
“A lot of times these are our most economically disadvantaged children — the kids that don't have access to a variety of different resources that maybe other kids do,” Hidalgo County Precinct 1 Commissioner David Fuentes said.
A portion of the money will go toward expanding the Weslaco Boys and Girls Club.
