Naomi De Lucia
Born in Venezuela but raised in a wildly diverse cultural background, her mother is from Venezuela and her father is Italian, Naomi De Lucia developed a passion for visual storytelling at a young age while anchoring her high school's morning newscast, attending a Film and Television program at Miller Career and Technology Center (MCTC) as well as the New York Film Academy (NYFA) she then decided to follow her passion and make the art of creating visual narratives, her career.
In 2018 she graduated from the University of North Texas (UNT) with a degree in Radio, Television and Film, a minor in Spanish Language along with a Certificate in Spanish Language Media.
After graduating, Naomi worked as a Media Producer and Publicity Assistant at Raquel Cepeda Music LLC.
Soon after, Naomi moved to the RGV to begin her career at KRGV Channel 5 New as a part-time video editor quickly moving up to lead video editor within the year. However, she decided to further expand her horizons by joining the station's Spanish web team as a Spanish Digital Producer and Digital Anchor for our Spanish language news on our digital channnel 5.2 Noticias RGV.
As a Digital Anchor, Naomi has covered a wide range of major news stories for Noticias RGV’s digital platforms, such as the Space X launches, the Victor Godinez capital murder trial, several local elections, high school football season, local events as well as news across the border in Mexico.
Since 2023, Naomi has produced the health segment Salud y Vida for Noticias RGV providing the latest health news in Spanish and now due to her bilingual background, she is producing and anchoring the medical segments on CHANNEL 5 NEWS as well.
In 2024 Naomi hopes to keep the community informed regarding health matters in both languages by also covering more local health related stories which she knows is extremely important information for the community of the RGV.
