KRGV-TV, the ABC affiliate in the beautiful Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, is currently seeking: Digital Executive Producer.
KRGV-TV the ABC affiliate and the number one news station in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas has an immediate opening for a Digital Executive Producer for KRGV and our Spanish sister station, Noticias RGV. The right candidate should bring experience and passion to work with the digital and on-air teams to drive the gathering, creation, and distribution of engaging, compelling content across all digital and social media platforms.
This newsroom leader will work closely with the News Director, Assistant News Director and the newsroom management team to grow each station's audience and content-focused strategy.
As Digital Executive Producer, you are the digital team manager and a newsroom manager of both English and Spanish Content producers, so being bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
We are looking for someone with experience who can teach, coach, and mentor members of the digital team and the newsroom in best practices for writing, strong headline writing and producing content for digital and social platforms.
Our ideal candidate understands the newsroom workflow, breaking news on digital and linear platforms and that this is a key newsroom management position essential for the daily digital execution of the brand. AP Style writing is mandatory for this position.

Responsibilities
- Work?closely with the digital?teams (English/Spanish) to?coordinate daily digital?news efforts and monitoring daily projects with the Digital Content Producers
- Monitor stories, focus on accuracy and strong SEO in?digital?articles and social?content?through copy editing and closely working with the digital team to assure accuracy in published articles.
- Aggressively cover breaking news on?digital/social platforms through breaking news alerts, live streams, social posts and digital articles.
- Working with the Spanish Digital Producers with content, as well as airing a daily Digital newscast in Spanish.
-The Digital Executive Producer will also assist with special project/sweeps promotional execution on social media as needed.
- Be a participant in editorial meetings, provide story ideas for reporters and producers. Also highly encouraged to generate and write stories for the web and share them with television platforms.
Job Requirements
- At least two years’ experience; management experience preferred
- Intimate familiarity with AP Style writing
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or equivalent experience in the field
- Strong written, verbal communication (English/Spanish) organization
- Work irregular/odd hours and available to work weekends and holidays
- Live streaming knowledge, knowledge of?Content?Management Systems, Basic HTML
- Execute breaking news – including SMS, social media, email alerts
- Manage social media – station staff posts and social media pages, moderation of user comments as possible.
- Work in tandem with News Director, news managers and marketing
- Develop and maintain new sections of the website monitor live newscast streams
- Able to edit video and images
-Additional responsibilities as assigned by news management
