RAYMONDVILLE – Willacy County workers are set to receive more cash by the end of the year.
This is the first time since 2014 the county is giving its employees a bonus.
Willacy County treasurer Ruben Cavazos said the lump sum amount is an alternative to a pay raise, which the county can’t afford at the moment.
The total amount varies depending on how long the worker has been employed.
Cavazos explained that longevity pay (L) calculation is based on an employee's total years (Y) of eligible full-time and part-time service.
