WESLACO – The current drought in Willacy County is impacting one cotton grower financially.
He says only 1.8 inches of rain fell on his cotton field last week.
Though his field is about 7,000 acres, he says he won’t be reaping anything from it.
KRGV’s Frank McCaffrey spoke with the grower about his plan to recover from this season’s loss.
Cotton is now a covered commodity. Beginning later this year, farmers can apply for aid at a local Farm Services Agency location.
