MCALLEN – A detention hearing in the case against the wife of Dr. Jorge Zamora-Quezada has wrapped for the day.
A federal judge found Meisy Angelica Zamora to be considered a flight risk and denied bond.
The judge cited her strong ties to Mexico and a phone conversation used as evidence in court Thursday.
The FBI presented that phone conversation between Jorge Zamora and his daughter from behind bars.
A trial date has not been set. If found guilty, she faces up to 10 years in prison.
