WESLACO - The city of Weslaco is working to add new recyclable depositories where residents can drop off recyclable goods.

Weslaco Public Works Director Pete Garcia Jr. said the city just purchased two new recyclable container trailers for about $30,000 from this year’s budget. He said additional staff will be allocated for operation as well.

There are four existing trailers across the city. Two at Business 83 and Texas Blvd. and two at the city’s public works office on Joe Stephens Road.

People will be able to drop off plastic bottles, cardboard and newspapers at the new recycle trailers.

Garcia said they are finalizing locations now for the new units.

Anyone can find out more info about existing recycling options on the city of Weslaco’s website
