WESLACO – An Army veteran says he paid a Rio Grande Valley business more than $2,000 on a burial monument for his parents’ gravesite.

Ten months later, he wants to know why his mother's grave is still without a headstone.

Hernan Cantu's mother passed away last November. He lives in Houston so he hired a business out of Weslaco to make the monument.

Cantu hired In Loving Memory Monument in January to build a rose granite monument for his parents.

"Mother's Day went by. Father's Day went by. My father's birthday went by. My mother's birthday went by. My mother has no name on the plot yet," says Cantu.

Cantu says he tried contacting the owner to ask when the monument would be finished, but when he did, he says he was told he needed an additional $400 for the permit.
