RAYMONDVILLE – Some Rio Grande Valley families are having to bury their loved ones for a second time.
Analisa Alfaro’s uncle was buried in someone else’s plot when he was first interred.
His body had to be exhumed and buried again all because of a clerk’s mistake.
KRGV’s Rudy Mireles spoke with the mayor of Raymondville to find answers.
Gilbert Gonzales says this was a mistake they deeply regret but he understands how the city’s employee made the mistake because of the fine print.
"We apologize to the families for our mistake. It's not just her mistake, it's our mistake, you know. We're the city,” explains Gonzales.
