EDINBURG - Doctors at a Rio Grande Valley’s children's hospital are diagnosing more kids with the flu.

Just three full months into the flu season, Dr. Steven Perilman at Edinburg Children's Hospital emergency department says this season has already been the busiest.

He wants you to remember your child is exposed to germs every day while at school, so the best way to protect them is by vaccinating them.

According to the State Health Department, so far eight flu-related deaths have been reported this season in Texas.

Perilman warns the most vulnerable are children under two years of age and the elderly.
