Valley Crews Respond to Kenedy Co. Brush Fire
SARITA – Rio Grande Valley fire crews are in Kenedy County helping put out a brush fire.
The fire is burning about 25 miles northeast from the Sarita checkpoint.
Authorities tell CHANNEL 5 NEWS that the fire has burned approximately 1,200 acres since it began around 3:00 p.m. Wednesday.
The fire is burning on private property about an hour’s drive east of Expressway 77.
Authorities say 15 agencies from Willacy, Brooks, Cameron and Hidalgo counties among others are assisting crews to fight the blaze.
