HARLINGEN – A police bomb squad from Brownsville have secured the area at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley campus in Harlingen.
They were investigating a suspicious item in parking lot H4 discovered after 3 p.m. Monday.
Harlingen Campus Only. UTRGV PD is currently investigating a suspicious item in parking lot H4. Parking lots H3, H4, and H5 are currently closed due to police activity. Stay out of the area until further notice.

All other campuses are unaffected.
As a precaution, police closed off parking lots H3, H4 and H5.
Authorities now say it's all clear.
Harlingen Campus. All Clear. UTRGV PD is done investigating the suspicious item in parking lot H4. Parking lots H3, H4, and H5 are reopened.
