On the first minute of August 12th, the Edinburg Economedes Jaguars started up practice with another year of Midnight Madness.

"I love it because it gets everyone out here for sure," Jaguars sophomore quarterback John Carreon said. "It gives us a great excitement way to kick off the season."

"We did it my first year that I was here, and last year of course we did it and it just seems to, you can feel the energy, you can feel the kids ready to go." Exonomedes head coach Raul Salas added on the midnight practices.

It's been a tough few years for the Jaguars. They've posted just one win in each of the last two seasons.

However, the team is ready for the opportunity to prove themselves in 2024.

"We're just trying to win some games, you know? I think that's the goal for everybody, right? But we're trying to make a different name for ourselves." Economedes senior offensive lineman Adan Perales said.

The season gets started in Week 1 with a matchup against Donna North.
