PALMVIEW – A trial date is set for the second man accused of a killing a 52-year-old woman in Palmview.

Cristobal Cachin is charged with capital murder.

The 27-year-old is accused of killing 52-year-old Elvira Vital Martinez.

In 2015, Martinez was found beaten and stabbed outside of her Palmview home by friends from her church.

Cachin will head to trial Aug. 21.

Seventeen-year-old Eduardo Castro Lopez is also charged with killing Martinez. Investigators said Lopez told authorities he stole $90 from her home.
