A Harlingen man linked to two separate murders will go to trial in September.

Anthony Eliff III is charged in the death of 41-year-old Guillermo Garcia, who was found dead in his car with a single gunshot wound to the chest on Feb. 2020.

On Tuesday, a judge set Eliff’s trial in that case for Monday, Sept. 11.

The Harlingen Police Department also linked Eliff to the death of his girlfriend, Elyn Loera, whose remains were found near San Benito days after Garcia was killed.

No trial date has been set for that case.
