SOUTH PADRE ISLAND – Kites flying is a sight to see and crowds show up every year for the Kite Festival in South Padre Island.

The festival is sponsored by the city and local business B&S Kites.

The owner of B&S Kites says making kites was a hobby of his but it later inspired him to open his own store.

Attendees brought their lawn chairs to admire the small and big kites up in the sky. There was a bit of struggle with the wind in the beginning, but it eventually picked up.
