Texas A&M Forest Service warns of risk of wildfires in the Valley
Rain is in the forecast this weekend, but officials with the Texas A&M Forest Service say the Rio Grande Valley is at risk of seeing wildfires in the area.
Multiple grass fires broke out last week, and officials say they’re concerned of the possibility of more wildfires because of all the dead grass in the area.

Dayziah Patruska with the Texas A&M Forest Service says as we head into the hotter, dryer months of summer, that concern increases.
Patruska says there are things homeowners can do to prevent the risk of fires around your home.
Those tips include mowing the grass and trimming trees and removing debris within 100 feet away from your home.
