HARLINGEN – Harlingen police are searching for a hit-and-run driver in what authorities are calling a road rage incident.
The accident took place at North 77 Sunshine Strip and New Combes Highway at around 2:30 p.m. Monday.
The caller who told authorities of the accident also advised about possible shots fired in the area.
As a precaution, a perimeter was set and Harlingen High school was placed on temporary lock down.
Police believe the suspect fled to a residence near the intersection of Findley Street and Lozano Street, but he was not found.
The incident remains under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
